81 Poppies in the Snow

Dress-81 Poppies; Vegan Vest-Zara (Spring 2011); Boots-Nine West (old); Purse-Michael Kors; Silver Mantra7 Bracelet- Serendipity’s Back Yard; Silver and Turquoise Bracelet-Mexico

I have been DYING to wear this dress!!! I ordered it from 81 Poppies before we went to Mexico…even had it rush shipped so that it would make it in my suitcase, and then I didn’t end up getting a chance to wear it there. HUGE disappointment! So, I don’t care if there’s still snow on the ground right now because I have waited LONG ENOUGH to wear this beautiful thing, dang it!!!! I’ll simply pop on a fur coat on my way out the door, and if I get cold I’ll stop by the drug store and pick up a pair of tights because I’m not letting a little snow and -5C temps scare me away from this mission! No sir-eeee!!!

Have a great day Y’all!

Love,

Suzie

  2. Thanks girlie! I have had that vest for a year and never quite been able to figure out what to wear it with. You know how they say “necessity is the mother of invention”? Well I was up in the mountains with a limited wardrobe. It was almost the only thing there (aside from those boots, which I also haven’t worn in a few years)! It was the outfit that just came together in seconds and I loved it the moment I had it on.

  3. Wow, do I love this outfit Suzie. It’s probably one of my favs & it’s not something I would normally think that would inspire me but this is perfect. I love the silk & leather combo!

  4. Oh yeah and am also looking for some espadrille sandals and some parachute type pants, does that sound rediculous? Saw Ralph Lauren had some great white para pants. Was at La Cantera Mall the other day, a gal had on a pair of white para pants (we can get away with white in March down here) they looked great. Nice navy cotton peasant top, white para pants and some espadrilles, sounds like an outfit for Chicago and going out to eat the best pizza in the world.

    • Happy to hear from you girl! I’ll ponder what’s on your “laundry list” (my code for clothes shopping list) and see if I can’t suggest some items. And Chicago???!!!! Another of my fave cities…it has a Vietnamese/French fusion restaurant called La Colonial on Rush Street that makes the meanest ginger martini I’ve ever tasted. And the food? To die for!!! Thanks for checking in Kathleen and good luck with all those projects!

  5. Well hi there Suzie. Guess I haven’t commented lately. Got back from Florida to Texas in February. I’ve been busy. We have had great weather, I’ve been working on my garden, I moved it to another location. I have also been prepping the house for painting. I am hoping to get that done this year. I redid my laundry room. We are getting ready to refinish the floors in some of the rooms in the house. Busy, busy. Thanks for thinking of me. I have been checking into your blog and on facebook all the time. Getting excited about the Junk Gypsies show on HGTV. Love those girls. I haven’t decided yet if I’m going to Warrenton TX for the huge Junk Market this year. I live only 2 hours from there, but its huge and has huge crowds of people. Something I kind of stay away from these days. But would love to see the Junk Gypsy tent. Also, Rachael Ashwell’s new B & B. I didn’t go last year, we were in a drought and it was so dry and hot even by that tme last year. This year I”m betting it will be raining. I see you are budgeting yourself. Interested to see what you have picked out for your $300 dollars. I’m going to Chicago in June, big family reunion and then my husband and I are going to do the museums. Haven’t been back home since the early 90’s. So am putting some outfits together. Have an outdoor graduation to attend while there, so am looking for a very large hat, a sundress and I have some fushia with rhinestone sandals to wear, I want a sundress that is a contrast color either a cornflower blue, or maybe an orange. Other than that it will be jeans, found some Hollister Peasant blouses on sale, wear my nice silver and turquoise jewelry. Wanted to go to California but think I will wait till the fall, too many other things going on. What trips do you have planned in the future?

    • Thanks Brandy, it’s from their Fall 2011 line but it’s 100% silk so light as a feather…I fell in love with it at first sight…and it was 60% off!!! 🙂

I love hearing from Y'all! Leave your lovely comments here:
